Creu 30 Mwy / Create 30 More

Creu 30 Mwy marked a powerful milestone: 30 years of WISP championing the voices, creativity and lived experiences of people with additional needs through dance. This ambitious, large-scale project honoured our past while boldly investing in the future of inclusive dance across North Wales.

At its heart, Creu 30 Mwy was about connection — connecting people, organisations, artists and audiences — and shining a spotlight on the extraordinary work happening under the banner of inclusive dance.

In recognition of its impact, Creu 30 Mwy has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Community Project of the Year category sponsored by The Bank of London at the British Diversity Awards 2026.

A Project with Reach and Depth

Creu 30 Mwy was a multi-faceted programme that delivered:

  • Inclusive creative dance sessions in a wide range of community settings, engaging children, young people and adults living with additional needs. These sessions placed creativity, confidence and joy at the centre of participation.
  • New and strengthened partnerships with leading organisations across North Wales, including Dawns i Bawb, Dance Collective CIC, Cwmni Pen Productions and Pontio Arts and Innovation Centre, helping to grow a more connected and resilient inclusive dance sector.
  • High-quality professional development through hosting Marc Brew (Marc Brew Company), nominated this year for two National Dance Awards. Marc delivered inspiring CPD for the WISP team, creative workshops with our members, and inclusive dance training for freelance artists from across the region.
  • Specialist training in audio description, led by Karina Jones and Kate Lawrence, supporting choreographers from WISP and partner organisations to explore meaningful and creative access within dance performance.

#Ni’nDawnsioHefyd / \#WeDanceToo

A First-of-Its-Kind Inclusive Dance Festival

A major highlight of Creu 30 Mwy was the creation and delivery of #Ni’nDawnsioHefyd / \#WeDanceToo, a groundbreaking inclusive dance festival celebrating the very best of community and professional inclusive dance in Wales.

The festival featured:

  • Performances from community dance groups in the first half
  • Followed by Human’s Move, a professional inclusive dance company, in the second half

Two members of Human’s Move are current or former members of WISP Dance Club, making this performance — the only North Wales date of their Let Life Dance tour — especially meaningful. Championing their success on home soil was a powerful moment of pride for our community.

Presented as relaxed performances, #WeDanceToo welcomed audiences of all backgrounds and access needs, challenging perceptions of what dance is and who dance is for. The festival dismantled stereotypes, shifted attitudes, and celebrated excellence, artistry and inclusion in equal measure.

Lasting Impact

Creu 30 Mwy:

  • Built self-confidence and self-worth among participants
  • Inspired families, friends and the wider community
  • Strengthened personal and professional networks
  • Advocated visibly and unapologetically for inclusion

A dedicated networking event brought together performers (community and professional), families, partners, funders and dignitaries, helping to deepen relationships and strengthen the inclusive dance ecosystem across North Wales.

Learning, Legacy and the Future

WISP is working with an external evaluator to gather feedback from participants and communities involved in Creu 30 Mwy. The resulting impact report will support shared learning, inform future development, and be disseminated widely through partner networks and the Wales-Wide Training Programme, ensuring the project’s legacy reaches far beyond its delivery period.
