Our Participants Are At The Heart Of All We Do
Since it was founded in 1994 WISP’s participants have been integral in informing our choices, provision and direction. Who better to guide us than our members and their families? Constitutionally groundbreaking at its conception WISP has included the voices of our members to help shape our provision, guide our projects and create powerful, touching and inspiring work. This ethos of empowerment and validation keeps our members at the heart of all we do, their personal achievements are affirmation of the work we do as an organisation. We are privileged to work with our inspiring young people and champion their ability to the world.
We are keeping our activities Covid Safe by maintaining Social Distancing in our Dance Sessions and still keeping active and having loads of fun.
Our latest Bubble Dances Project!
Supported by the National Lottery Community Fund our Bubble Dances project explored how to create inclusive dance sessions that can be experienced at home. We spent time working in the studio together to choose what tasks and bits of dancing to include. We were lucky to find a wonderful venue in Flintshire to film over the summer of 2022. We were joined in the project by Theatr Clwyd & the VAE. We created 7 tri-lingual sessions with our Welsh, English & BSL tutors to bring inclusive dance activity to your screens! You can join in now by heading over to our new YouTube Channel.
Every dance we’ve ever done has told a story. In them we’ve travelled to India, dived underwater and danced with The Beatles. We’ve opened our hearts and souls and left everything out on stage. Because we love to dance, to express ourselves and, above all, enjoy our time together.
Without our supporters we couldn't do what we love: dance together. it's as simple as that. For every organisation, charity and individual who has ever supported us, thank you, you help make our magic happen.
